I’m very aware that there are instances of institutionalized racism. The main races affected by this (to my knowledge) are black people, hispanic people, and white people. Possibly in that order, not sure. There’s more institutionalized racism against black and hispanic people than against white people; of this I am aware. There’s more socialized racism against white people and hispanic people than black people these days; of this I am also aware.
There are also advantages to not being white in this country that a lot of people are ignoring, though. Being white is practically becoming politically incorrect. If you’re white and you live anywhere that isn’t some backwoods hick town, you really can’t get away with that much without being under constant scrutiny. Non-white people are given more leeway.
Somehow this doesn’t translate to criminal offences though, for some reason or another. Possibly tradition. I’m sure that’s just a matter of time though.
20 years from now, white people are going to be a friggen’ minority. I’m sure they’ll still be treated like a powerful oppressive class though. I know how this shit works.
In my experience, the percentage of the black population that is racist against white people seems to be a LOT higher than the other way around. I can understand why some people might feel justified in this… but they’re forgetting that it’s not WHITE people who discriminate against them for the most part anymore; it’s white people in power (and also stupid white people who haven’t realized that it’s the 21st century already). White people with triple digit IQs and an average level of power in society tend not to be particularly racist these days.
I know that the percentage of impoverished white people in this country is lower than the percentage for some other races. That sucks. Anybody who is poor through no direct fault of their own deserves help, regardless of race.
I have no intention of denying things that exist; that would be foolish. I’m simply imploring other people to do the same, and also to start treating each other like friends instead of enemies @_@;
