Reverse Racism

Just a collection of trivial topics and events that some may perceive to be racist, discriminative, and/or biased towards the majority.

This whole idea that white people are supposedly being blamed for what their ancestors did kills me, especially the ancestors part. Don’t tell me the problem lies with your ancestors when you were just joking about the racist shit your grandparents were saying yesterday.

Speaking of them, interesting how anti-sj’s and co tend to disregard any hardships and discussions on racism people of color who aren’t black face in the U.S. just to use them as a tool to dismiss the experiences of racism and discussions on race relations by black people.

Also interesting how they use the experiences of white ethnic groups who were ‘the others’ in the past but aren’t experiencing any negative effects of it now to reject the idea that the bootstrap theory has less of a chance of working here if you’re not the right shade.

White privilege is telling people of color, when it comes to racism, not letting words affect them is a new healthy mindset and a new perspective that might empower them.

White privilege is telling people of color that racism will change if they change their perspectives.

And people wonder why some people don’t care about white opinions like this.

Maybe I said this before but I take note on people who ask for every type of research and study to prove how people of color are harmed by racism and discrimination are usually the same ones who will state that not accepting ignorant opinions from white people, including nationalists/supremacists/racist creates a toxic and harmful environment here on tumblr.

They will also ask for proof from people of color when it comes to their experiences with racism but they will state that white people experience racism in such a vague manner and leave it at that.

On the subject of Columbia’s white-only fellowship, here’s another reason why I’m tired of people, especially white people, complain about the supposed segregation that HBCUs cause. You mean to tell me you can rant about schools with a large black student body and insinuate that it’s a relic of the past but you turn a blind eye to these prestigious and noble Ivy League schools where a white-only fellowship might have been seen as traditional?

And then uses a logical fallacy in their own argument to dismiss any concerns with racism.

:/

Can I just sit here and wonder how people, especially certain white people, anti-sj and co will forever get mad at bloggers for being assholes to white people but will tell you “it’s just the internet” when it comes to racism against people of color?

People who defend whitewashing and underrepresentation of people of color in the U.S. media by arguing that since white people are the majority here, it’s supposedly reasonable for them to be the default for characters regardless of description are pretty much confirming the notion that white people are unlikely to relate, feel compassion/empathy/sympathy to people of color or understand the human experience through them.

But still try to argue that tumblr invalidates white people’s opinion.

Maybe people who don’t care about the opinions of white nationalists, supremacists or ignorant white people aren’t invalidating their opinions just because they’re white…

People who say this shit…

No, I am painfully aware that people of color aren’t innocent, nor will they be granted the title without passing and getting the approval they need in order to be seen as such. Especially when it comes to the how individuals are portrayed and generalized in the media here in the U.S.
